Our experience in convening small groups of faculty, administrators and others to talk with us about issues in higher education has been very successful. These guided but informal discussions—Listenings, in our parlance—have helped us define strategies for growth and develop new programs, and we plan to continue them. Since we can not run enough Listenings to talk with every person who could help us, however, we have also developed this section of our website for "Virtual Listenings": electronic discussion forums in which participants can talk with each other—and with us—about a designated issue. They generally run for two to four week periods, during which participants can log on when they wish, see what others have had to say, and respond to the discussion.
