This toolkit is intended to spark constructive conversation about adapting the “Cornerstone” program model to reinvigorate the role of the humanities in general education and to make the difficult work of curricular reform more manageable.

It offers practical strategies for faculty leaders to engage their colleagues, secure administrative and faculty buy-in, attract students, and plan for the longer-term sustainability of their programs. As more institutions join the Cornerstone: Learning for Living initiative and adapt the model to their settings, this toolkit will be periodically updated to capture lessons from a broader array of participating institutions.
