CORE (Curriculum Open-Access Resources for Economics) is an effort to reform the teaching of economics that emphasizes empirical research, historical context, and the use of hands-on data with a free electronic textbook and related online teaching resources. Journalist David Brancaccio of the public radio show Marketplace is leading a reading group that will go through all twelve chapters of the free textbook over the next few months, with Teagle co-PI Homa Zarghamee holding virtual office hours. The CORE website had about 5,000 visitors daily on average in January, but that figure jumped to 36,000 after the first episode aired. This project received Teagle support in 2017.
