Grant Summary

$250,000 over 36 months to Citizenship and Freedom: From Plato to Maya, a program that gives promising underserved rising high school seniors from the St. Louis region an opportunity to participate in a three-week summer humanities seminar and a school-year civic engagement program. Citizenship and Freedom follows the essential components of Knowledge for Freedom programs, including a rigorous academic seminar and college application support, while offering two additional components. A structured and long-term partnership with a successful campus college prep program and an opportunity to participate in a year-long civic engagement project called Forward Through Ferguson. Teagle support will help build and sustain the program over three years.
