Grant Summary
$210,000.00 over 36 months to give underserved rising high school seniors from urban and rural communities inside and outside of Philadelphia an opportunity to participate in a three-week residential summer seminar and a year-long follow up program in the liberal arts at Villanova University. Framed by St. Augustine’s definition of civil society, Civitas through Caritas will anchor student conversations on the common good and civic duty in a discussion of values such as veritas (truth), caritas (love), and (unitas) community. Teagle support will help build and sustain the program over three years.
