Grant Summary

$50,000 over 24 months to Prep for Prep's College Guidance and Undergraduate Affairs program. Prep for Prep is an educational, leadership development program that prepares and places New York City's most able students of color into independent schools and provides them with on-going support and life-changing opportunities. Prep's College Guidance service includes individual college planning meetings, college trips, financial aid counseling, SAT preparation courses, and college essay writing workshops. The Undergraduate Affairs services commence upon high school graduation with a day-long retreat aimed at preparing students for the challenges they may face in college. Once the students matriculate into college, they are encouraged to stay close to Prep for Prep and reach out for assistance. Prep for Prep hosts an ongoing series of Undergraduate Affairs Nights, during which Prep college students have the opportunity to reconnect with their Prep peers and counselors.
