Grant Summary
$215,000 over 24 months to develop a Cornerstone pathway through the new general education requirements and to revitalize a culture of reading and critical inquiry on campus. This includes a first-year gateway course, organized around one pairing of significant texts, with additional reading assignments chosen from the consensus list for that course. Students will then have the option to embark on a 15-credit Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts certificate program to meet Howard’s recently approved general education distribution requirements.
