Grant Summary
$25,000 over 12 months to develop a redesigned general education curriculum co-led by faculty from SSC’s Language Arts and Humanities and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics divisions. Participating faculty will redesign its ENG 1213 course, required of virtually all SSC students, such that at least half of the assigned readings come from a consensus list of texts. Faculty will also collaborate to develop pairs of other courses eligible for meeting general education requirements that help students draw connections between the humanities and the sciences.
