Grant Summary
$350,000 over 24 months to implement a required first-year two-semester sequence of reading- and writing-intensive courses (the First-Year Core), with each of these courses engaging students with key common texts from various epochs and cultures. In addition, Vanderbilt will implement a cluster of Exploratory Core electives that build on the questions and themes of the first-year sequence and serve as a launchpad for students’ paths through the general education curriculum.
