Grant Summary
$25,000 over 12 months to the University of Texas at Austin to complete a rigorous 12-month planning process with the assistance of the Teagle team to implement a Knowledge for Freedom program in the summer of 2023 or 2024. This program will help the College of Liberal Arts demonstrate the value and relevance of the humanities to first-generation college bound students. This program will also support a larger University effort to encourage students from underrepresented groups to enroll in the school. A team of faculty from History and English will create a transformative text seminar focused on questions of American citizenship and identity.
