Grant Summary

$25,000 over six months to Purdue University’s West Lafayette campus, in collaboration with the Fort Wayne and Northwest campuses, for a planning grant. Purdue’s West Lafayette campus is launching a 15-credit Cornerstone certificate in fall 2017 designed for undergraduates in the highly concentrated degree programs of engineering and nursing. Cornerstone enables pre-professional students to take thematically linked liberal arts courses connected to their professional aspirations while satisfying general education requirements. The planning grant would enable Purdue to determine how to significantly scale up the program to serve thousands of undergraduates while engaging two regional campuses in discussions on how the model can be adapted and implemented elsewhere.
